No matter what season it is, vacation at "your home away from home" at Thunder Lodge, on the tree lined banks of Cottonwood Creek. Seven roomy family-size log cabins are located around a common lawn in a relaxing atmosphere. Clean and quiet, all cabins have fully equipped kitchenettes and cable television, while featuring a western Indian motif of pine and oak interiors and furnishings. Each cabin has two double beds, including a hide-a-bed in the living room. The cabins can accommodate 6-7 people comfortably, and additional roll-away beds are available. Enjoy a summer evening cooking outside your cabin on the BBQ grill and eating at your picnic table as the sun sets over the mountain peaks.
After a day exploring the surrounding countryside, relax, play a game of shuffle board or just enjoy the quiet sitting by Cottonwood Creek which runs through the property. A wide range of year-round activities is available, including:

Both Ski Cooper and Monarch Ski area are a 45-minute drive.
The small town of Buena Vista, nestled at the base of the Collegiate and Sawatch Mountain Ranges, is named for its "good view." It is now known for the best rafting in Colorado. Brown's Canyon, 8 miles south, is often called the whitewater capital. The impressive Collegiate Range, lies to the west has the most concentrated number of peaks above 14,000' in Colorado, abounds with hiking trails, mountain bike trails and riddled with ghost towns.
The lodge is open all year, with off-season rates. Cribs are available; children three and under stay free. The lodge requires a deposit with reservations. If you stay ten nights or longer ask about discounted rates.
